Bitcoin 10 Year Realized Price Chart Explained

The 10 year realized price shows the average price that bitcoins were last moved at, but only considers coins that moved in the past 10 years.

This can be more useful than the standard realized price because many early coins are lost or haven't moved in over a decade, which keeps the regular realized price artificially low and less reflective of recent market activity.

10 Years of Data

By only looking at the last 10 years of data, we get a more sensitive realized price that better tracks market conditions. This helps identify more relevant price support and resistance levels.

10 Year MVRV Ratio

We've also included the 10 Year MVRV ratio at the bottom of the chart, which divides the current price by the 10 year realized price. This metric helps identify when Bitcoin is overvalued or undervalued relative to recent history.

The MVRV ratio is color-coded by percentile ranges to easily spot market extremes:

  • Red: Top 20% (80th-100th percentile) - Strongly overvalued
  • Orange: 60th-80th percentile - Moderately overvalued
  • Yellow: 40th-60th percentile - Fair value range
  • Green: 20th-40th percentile - Moderately undervalued
  • Blue: Bottom 20% (0-20th percentile) - Strongly undervalued
